The Raspberry Pi 5 with 4GB RAM has a 2.4GHz CPU, 2.4/5GHz WiFi, Bluetooth 5, dual 4Kp60 video output and many expansion options.
Raspberry Pi 5 builds on the phenomenal success of Raspberry Pi 4. In comparison with its predecessor, it delivers a 2-3x increase in CPU performance, and a significant uplift in GPU performance, alongside improvements to camera, display, and USB interfacing.
These interfacing improvements are delivered by the RP1 I/O controller chip, designed in-house at Raspberry Pi. For the first time, Raspberry Pi silicon is used on a flagship product.
Raspberry Pi 5 has some neat improvements and additions compared Raspberry Pi 4:
- 2x 4-lane MIPI interface to connect 2x camera, 2x DSI display or one of each
- RTC with battery backup
- Dedicated UART connector (no more sharing from GPIO)
- Power button
- PCI Express interface for high speed peripherals
- Fan connector
